Medline Plus is a service of the National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health. It manages to pull off the impressive feat of being both easy to use and comprehensive. There is plenty here for students, educators, and laymen alike.
Reference tools for students include a medical dictionary, medical encyclopedia with pictures and diagrams, a drug reference guide, and videos of surgical procedures. Teachers will like the ability to stay up to date with the News clipping service from Reuters and HealthDay. Others will enjoy the directories of doctors, dentists and hospitals, the info on 700 health topics, and the interactive tutorials. There is also a section of health information in Spanish.
Thanks to Jim Summe for the tip.
