Three Economics Books from About.com

Here are three free online-only books from About.com. I use About extensively for their outstanding geology section, but haven’t delved into them before for Econ, although it’s one of my minors. As with all About.com pages, these are littered with ads, including pop-ups, and make you click for more info far too often. But that shouldn’t detract from the quality of info in the books, one each on introductory micro and macroeconomics, and one adapted from the US State Department called Outline of the US Economy. These books should certainly be enough to get a dedicated student through a 100 level course without shelling out $110 for an entry level econ book. Going to the library might be a little easier than navigating About’s annoying interface, though.
