Here’s an online-only book that’s used by the author for three 100-level classes: Organic and Biochemistry, Environmental Issues, and Demo Labs. Starting with inorganic chemistry and working its way through to risk-assessment and toxicology, it’s very comprehensive, although it’s unclear if it’s been updated since 2003. While not searchable, it’s quite easy to browse and covers the basics very well, and could certainly replace a standard $150 textbook for a dedicated student. It’s also written at a level that might be useful for high school students.
